BACKGROUND

  • Mizrachi Canada is a community organization that Promotes Religious Zionism here in Canada
  • Mizrachi is a member of the Word Zionist Organization (WZO), where we lobby for support of programming that helps achieve our goals and ideals.
  • The WZO distributes significant funding to programs run by various Zionist institutions throughout the Diaspora.
  • Each member organization of the Canadian Zionist Federation competes for a fixed number of mandates to the WZO. A mandate bestows voting rights at the WZO Congress held every four years.
  • The size of an organization’s delegation at the WZO Congress is determined by the number of individual members an organization can demonstrate it legitimately has.

Mizrachi Canada is currently the ONLY ORTHODOX member of the Canadian Zionist Federation.

The larger the delegation we can have at the WZO, the better our chances to yield influence and persuade the WZO to fund programs such as MASA Scholarships; Shlichim / representatives from Israel who serve as teachers and youth leaders and generally strengthening the Jewish character of life here in Canada as well as within the State of Israel.

It’s imperative Mizrachi increase the size of our delegation at the next WZO Congress in order to help build a stronger Religious Zionist influence both in Canada and in Israel

THE SOLUTION

Mizrachi is eager to work with individuals and institutions who share our core values of Torah, Israel and Derech Eretz. 

We propose that in your upcoming membership renewal package, there be an option for each synagogue member to also become a member of Mizrachi Canada for a nominal annual fee of $18. 

That cost would be included in their membership fees. Should a member wish not to participate, they could elect to “opt out”.
